James Sands
The Gold Cup winner returned to the fold in early August and has carried his stellar form through the month. Comfortable switching between defense and midfield, Sands is equal parts versatile and composed.
His leadership qualities have been central to NYCFC’s continued good form and big wins against Inter Miami and New England Revolution – games that saw him play different roles.

Now 34, the veteran playmaker shows no signs of slowing down.
A creative fulcrum in the final third, Moralez produced several vintage performances in August, and showed his class on the ball during wins against New England Revolution and Inter Miami.
Against the Revs, it was Maxi’s creativity and intelligence that helped teammate Taty Castellanos notch a brace.

August was a big month for the Argentine striker as he broached double figures for goals in MLS.
Castellanos was an ever-present for NYCFC this month, and that saw him produce a return of four goals and two assists – with his contributions helping the Boys in Blue to an extra seven points.
