WIN!, an all-access documentary chronicling the birth of New York City Football Club and the franchise's historic inaugural season, on Saturday, April 29 at 10 p.m. ET, immediately following YES' NYCFC-Columbus Crew match coverage, which begins at 7:30 p.m. ET.
WIN! gives fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the franchise in its infancy from 2014 and 2015, when it began building its roster and its business operations from scratch, signed its coaching staff, and made its way through its first training camp and MLS season playing home matches at Yankee Stadium.
Deploying a "fly-on-the-wall" approach, WIN! showcases the ambitious project and what it takes to build a professional sports franchise from the ground up. The film follows top executives, including Claudio Reyna, NYCFC Sporting Director and the Club's very first employee, the players that came together to form the first MLS within the five boroughs, and the front office personnel who helped bring to life the next chapter in New York City's rich soccer history, developing a passionate fan base along the way.
The independent film crew led by award-winning director Justin Webster was given unfettered access, allowing viewers to follow the action on the pitch and in the office like never before: business calls, staff and team meetings, practices and games. It features first team players, along with the signings of global stars David Villa, Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo as the team made its mark in New York and throughout the soccer world.
