New York City FC traveled to New Jersey for the long-awaited first Hudson River Derby of 2019 against the Red Bulls.
As City looks to bring home another three points to continue their ascent up the table, Dome Torrent has made a few changes to his Starting XI.
With the summer tournament season coming to a close and with players returning to full fitness, Sean Johnson, Alex Callens, Anton Tinnerholm, Keaton Parks, and Taty Castellanos all return to their starting positions.
Johnson is back in net for Brad Stuver after month away with the U.S. Men’s National Team at the Gold Cup.
Along with Johnson, Callens who has been away with the Peruvian Men’s National Team at Copa America also returns to the lineup in place of Ben Sweat.
Tinnerholm, Castellanos, and Parks, who all came off the bench in the U.S. Open Cup, are starting for the Boys in Blue tonight as they prepare to face off against their cross-river rivals.
Meanwhile, the bench is stacked for City as Tony Rocha returns from his injury, and the new arrival Gary Mackay-Steven will be dressed in NYCFC Blue for the time first time and hoping to make his debut.
Head to Katch Astoria for the Watch Party or tune in to FS1 to cheer on the Road Blues as they take on the Red Bulls in the first leg of the Hudson River Derby.
