Both Jesus Medina and Anton Tinnerholm will both make their debuts for City in this season opener, while substitutes Saad Abdul-Salaam, Ismael Tajouri-Shradi and Sebastien Ibeagha will hope to do the same at some stage in the evening.
There is just one change to the lineup which began NYCFC’s final preseason friendly against Montreal, with Ben Sweat coming in for Ronald Matarrita.
David Villa leads the line in between Medina and Rodney Wallace, while the 2017 midfield triumvirate of Alex Ring, Yangel Herrera and Maxi Moralez back them up.
At the back, Alexander Callens continues his record of starting every single Regular Season game since he arrived in the 2017 offseason, starting at the back alongside Maxime Chanot, with Sweat and Tinnerholm on either side ahead of Sean Johnson in goal.
