5. Columbus Crew Oct. 23
We start the countdown with the final home match of the season as New York City FC takes on the Eastern Conference champs Columbus Crew on Oct. 23. The Crew feature Kei Kamara and Ethan Finlay who combined for 34 goals and 21 assists.

4. Orlando City SC March 18
New York City FC will take on Orlando City SC three times this season, with two of those matches at Yankee Stadium (other on May 29). Last season New York City FC were 1-1-1 against Orlando City SC. Orlando City was led by their young upstart, Cyle Larin, who had 17 goals and their veteran, Kaká, who registered nine goals for the 2015 season.
3. LA Galaxy Aug 20
For the first time in franchise history, the LA Galaxy will make the trek to New York City. New York City FC is looking for revenge at Yankee Stadium after losing to the Galaxy last season. The Galaxy is led by Robbie Keane who scored 20 goals and had eight assists in 2015. This will be the first of five teams to make their first trip to Yankee stadium (Vancouver on April 30, Real Salt Lake on June 2, Colorado on July 30 and Dallas on Sept. 17)

2. Toronto FC March 13
The 2016 home opener features New York City FC taking on Toronto FC. Toronto is led by 2015 MVP Sebastian Giovinco, who scored 22 goals and had 16 assists in his dazzling 2015 season. New York City FC went 2-0-1 against Toronto FC in 2015. Frank Lampard scored his first MLS goal against Toronto on Sept. 16
1. Red Bulls July 3
New York City FC will take on their tri-state rival Red Bulls on three separate occasions, including two matches at home, but the biggest of the three matches could be on July 3. The Red Bulls are led by Bradley Wright-Phillips who scored 17 goals and had seven assists in 2015.
